I do call tech support from time to time and they can help me quickly. I will simply pull them back up and sort them myself. Since then, I’ve become much more confident, and I become less frustrated when something is not working – like when clips are not matched correctly. Most of the things I learned after the first week on Deutschland 86. But what about the learning curve with LockitScript? We have not even thought about that – LockitScript as contributor to healthy script supervisors. Two hours less each shooting day make a big difference, especially when shooting series. Especially with long projects, the long work hours are physically very taxing. I then explain which apps I use, and people get interested: “our colleague has to work very long hours at night” which is something I don’t do anymore. It’s at times when I stand in for someone that the team is a bit confused because I only have a stop watch and an iPad with me. There is some curiosity and interest, however: just yesterday, I met with a colleague to show her LockitScript. My colleagues are already working digitally, but on laptops. Were any colleagues of the second units interested in working digitally? This is an irresistible feature, which she wanted as well. You also have only one interface in which you enter all information. But it has the unbeatable advantage that you can simply send reports digitally. In the beginning, it feels a bit strange to work with the app, especially when you are so used to using pen and paper. Last year, she really wanted to go for it and that worked really well. The year before she tested LockitScript on second unit days during Deutschland 86. Yes, Sabine tried it for the first time last year, in 2018. In the end, I did six episodes and Sabine did four.ĭid the two of you work with LockitScript? In the meantime, Sabine worked on the next two episodes. I shared the workload in Berlin with my colleague Sabine Zimmer: We took turns every two episodes, after that I had a short shooting break, which was when I prepared the next two episodes. I worked in Berlin, Vienna, and Budapest. But it remains “Berlin Station”, with parts of the story taking place in Estonia and Russia.ĭid you shoot at other locations as well? But we also traveled to Vienna and for “France” shots, we went to Croatia so we “cheated” a bit. Location shootings were completed in Berlin. The studio shootings were done in Budapest, but the series as such takes place in Berlin. Your latest project was the third season of Berlin Station, an American production in Germany, which takes place mainly in Berlin, but also in Budapest. Thanks for taking the time once again to talk to us. We talked with Laura about Berlin as setting for film and TV, about the differences between German and American productions and why binge watching brings a breath of fresh air into the German TV and streaming landscape. For script supervision, the American production company trusts script supervisor Laura Ritter – and LockitScript. Again, CIA agent Daniel Miller is on a secret mission from his post in Berlin. The third season of Berlin Station has been released. “A lot of exciting things are happening right now” – LockitScript at the Set of Berlin Station

The ingredients are very similar to the nog but the flavor isn’t quite as enjoyable and the texture is a deal-breaker, it ranked 5th. It shared the same ‘sweet cream’ subtlety of the nog but was ever thicker! It was so thick it formed a cream sludge on the bottom of the cup that would require frequent stirring for even distribution. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of these 2 flavors in my coffee and it didn’t bring anything all that ‘special’. The Califia Maple Caramel Almond Milk Creamer has a lot of the same pros and cons listed above. We wouldn’t typically classify Maple Caramel as a holiday flavor, but we didn’t want to let our own season bias exclude any contenders. Overall, this ranked 4th because of the texture and lack of nog authenticity. Califia still uses Cane Sugar but at half the amount (2g) and substitutes Sunflower Oil for Coconut Cream, a much better alternative but possible at the expense of texture. The ingredients are a slight improvement over the Silk variety, however, we had to use more to have the flavors come through, so it probably balances out. It was so thick it caused me to check the expiration date thinking maybe it had gone bad, but that wasn’t the case. Not only is this viscosity mentally unpleasing to pour, but it also causes the cream to gravitate towards the bottom of the cup creating a bland top and overly sweet bottom. They are SO thick, almost clumpy like a drinkable yogurt. The bigger issue in both Califia creamer is the texture and consistency. Eggnog is such a distinct holiday drink, it’s not quite meeting expectations. When it comes to flavor, it’s more subtle than the Silk creamers, but you can taste a bit of ‘rich cinnamon’ sweetness coming through, especially in the second half of the cup. The Califia Holiday Nog Almond Milk Creamer is a subtle improvement to the everyday ‘sweet cream’ but nothing to get too hyped over. We were excited to find a plant-based eggnog alternative, as this presents a challenging flavor to mimic without dairy and eggs. Either way, Silk Almond Dark Chocolate Peppermint ranked among the highest in the final tally, and given the short season of availability, we’ll continue adding it to our morning coffee. Finally, natural flavors is a blanket term that doesn’t provide the desired transparency to know what is making this drink taste so magical. In this case, it’s likely a very small amount and we’re not ‘cooking’ with it, so we’ll let it slide but would prefer a High-Oleic Sunflow Oil alternative to lower the chance of oxidation. They are using Cane Sugar (4g per serving, on the higher end but not horrible), we don’t love seeing Sunflower Oil as when consumed in excess it may contribute to inflammation in the body. The ingredients could certainly be improved, but with this creamer, a little goes a long way, and it falls into the ‘not that bad’ category. The texture scored high as it blends well throughout hot coffee, it doesn’t sink to the bottom or get clumpy. It had just the right amount of sweetness to make you feel as though you’re celebrating for the holidays but not to make you feel as though you need to brush your teeth and eat something salty (as I personally feel after sipping half a Starbuck’s peppermint mocha). The flavor was noticeably more present in the Silk Almond Dark Chocolate Peppermint compared to others in the lineup. Typically I wouldn’t grab them off the shelf, since I tend to gravitate towards products with more ‘organic’ branding, but for this seasonal delight, I’m okay deviating from my normal ingredient standards. We were pleasantly surprised by what the non-dairy Silk creamers brought to the table. We selected 8 creamers and brewed a batch of coffee pouring a small amount into 8 mugs while keeping all variables consistent to an honest tasting match-up. Ingredient’s Integrity - how high quality were the ingredients used? Will it cause any unwanted gut distress?.Holiday Authenticity - did it provide a unique sipping experience that channeled the magic of the holiday season? Was the flavor clearly identifiable as a holiday option?.Texture - how well did the creamer mix with the coffee, was it a fluid sipping experience with equal distribution of cream from the first to the last sip?.Flavor - how delightful the creamer was when mixed with coffee, how prominent was the respective flavor notes?.To help prevent you from experiencing this same Yuletide hardship, we held the ultimate holiday creamer taste test to compare 8 leading creamers on 4 key criteria. Be honest, do you get giddy when November rolls around and you arrive in the creamer section of the store to see an array of seasonal creamers from peppermint to nog? We certainly do, but as the festive, dairy-free options continue to multiply each year, we found ourselves struggling with decision fatigue. It was late evening and we didn’t know what to expect at this times in that new place to explore that evening.so we made our reservations via OpenTable To our surprise the place, even was late, was a pack of costumers and as lively and crowded by happy. of those fully aware of it.not only as a self-proclaimed foodie but as a professional involved in Resort business as a whole Within that esprit, in mind we already enjoyed most of those previous places, high among, our very favorites in Greater Orlando As we were doing some ”errands” in the beautiful Millenia Mall I proposed my dear wife to try ”Eddies V’s Prime seafood”.located in that well known to Sand Lake Restaurant row on Dr Phillios areas. On this never-ending quest for -newer and better- Gastroplaces we just returned from a cherished and long Gatrotour on (almost) all Spain and Portugal.so all our actual expectations were revised and actualized within that context derived from those great Haut Cuisines and countless Michelin stars places from Barcelona, La Rioja, Pais Vasco, Ribera del Duero, Galicia, Porto, Caceres y Sevilla.ending in majestic Madrid Of course we do know our areas limitations on ingredients and mastering those newer cooking techniques.which in Spain Looks formidable, prodigal and endlessly! Each and every place needs to be judged by its context and its circumstances like I'm always doing as one. The worst that can happen, can be, that it let you indifferent or emotionlessness. On that top list we need to include Mount Dora’s ”1921 by Norman Van Aken” with Camilo Velasco in that kitchen For us, in our impenitent foodie’s heart, as mentioned many times dining is an Art and, as an Art, it needs to communicate, to provoke and to offer emotions, either good or bad ones. Most of them are southern, far located, in Greater Orlando areas. Plus “Bull & Bear” and ”Le Coq Au Vin” as our old time french favorite place in whole of Florida. Not to forget, of course, places like ”Victoria & Albert” that holds a soft spot in our Foodies' heart. Again, Eddie puts out a fabulous steak, best around, but we felt like the offerings were served like "oh well, Maginal Dining" and not carefully plated and served.Įddie Vs Prime Seafood Excellence is their key ingredient, let's find out: This one is a long time, due Visit and Review to a Place that is highly rated and located among FAVORITES IN GREATER ORLANDO Our longtime favorites, whenever we are in our dear second home in North Orlando, are topped by “Hillstone”, together with ”Luma”, ”Ravenous Pig”, ”Prato”, ”Luke’s” and ”Enzo’s by the Lake” are topping that list. I understand not having regular full sized desserts during Magical Dining but how about a small piece of cake or pie or something chocolate.I do applaud them for not having cheesecake as so many others have. The adjacent pecan ice cream was a nice treat. The Bananas Foster Butter Cake, while flammed tableside, was lacking in taste and so sticky, it stuck on your teeth. Butterscotch Panna Cotta was too salty and the biscotti mentioned was about 2 inches long. I would invite Eddie to revisit their MD dessert offerings. I understand that is what we ordered and nothing else was to be on the plate but to fill it, separate the steak and add a twist of orange or rosemary twig or something appealing. Our stakes were cooked properly, however the plates appeared with a pile of mashed potatoes with the steak sitting atop.no garnish, no was not an inviting place and juice from the steak had turned the potatoes red. Also we got the crab and corn chowder which was excellent and not the requisite salads. All in our party ordered the 8 oz filet with mashed potatoes for our entree. Eddie's is a beautiful restaurant noted for excellent service. It took 2 1/2 weeks to get in for our family this year. During Magical Dining month, dining fans swarm to Eddie V's probably because it's so good and so expensive! My family and I include them each year on our MD list. Whatever the theme, you’re assisting people who find themselves facing problems, from needing to find food, to wanting help transporting packages or trash. For instance, while solving the space puzzles, each one will focus on something related to outer space. Within the different themes for the puzzle packs, there’s a simple narrative that works through the game. Wait, is that Princess Peach’s skull? Story Wow, a plane made in the Mushroom Kingdom. Also, it makes sense that there are pre-set objects which act as impediments to placing new objects, but sometimes this made it difficult to place something in the proper location because it had to be set up just right. For instance, trying to select a gear so I could make an adjustment to where I placed it, or when trying to plug in an outlet. I did have some issues though, as sometimes a gizmo or piece of it would be fickle and unresponsive. Controlsĭue to how the game is designed, it’s controlled using the mouse, and by and large works as it should. Another demonstration of why test crash dummies are so vital. Aside from solving these puzzles or playing the mini-games, you’d have a sandbox available to build your own machines and create chain reactions with the range of items in CM3. This is probably in part due to how new gadgets are introduced, so there has to be a learning curve so you learn how it functions, such as the lasers. With how they’re organized, it does a decent job of getting harder as you progress, though there were times where I could quickly figure out a higher difficulty puzzle, as it seemed pretty easy. The bulk of the puzzles are contained in the first pack, with 80 available. There are 5 main campaigns, with a total of 117 contraptions to put together, and 1 other campaign made up of mini-games. GameplayĪlthough the machines that you’ll construct can be pretty complicated, the gameplay itself is rather basic. Looks like unicorn is on the menu today boys! And I’ve heard rumor that the flesh is magically delicious. The (often rather linearly designed) levels drip with smaller and larger objects. But our favorite was the industry-leading scene lighting which falters neither underground nor on the surface.Īnother thing about the atmosphere is the level of details. Graphics quality is almost always top-notch (with the exception of facial animations), no matter whether we are looking at the textures, the number of polygons or light, fire, particle and shadow effects. Although graphics fetishists might not be too impressed ( "Metro 2033" had been almost as visually stunning as "Last Light"), we are. How exactly does 4A Games manage to create such a consistent, credible game world where many other studios have failed? On one hand, it's all about excellent technology. Some players may feel reminded of the visual aesthetics of the "Stalker" series - this is no coincidence, since many developers of "Metro 2033" and "Last Light" had been involved with "Stalker" in the past. Only few first-person shooters manage to create a more immersive experience. As in the first part, we slip into the role of the nearly 20-year old Artyom who has to survive in this harsh and hostile environment.Īs expected, "Last Light" inherits one of the strengths of its predecessor: The extremely intense atmosphere. Among others, there are fascists ("Reich") and communists ("Reds"), but the subway tunnels are also populated by numerous horribly mutated creatures which are hostile towards the protagonist as well. This harsh existence without daylight or enough food is made even worse by a number of rivaling factions. After a nuclear war that has laid waste to Russia, the remaining humans try to hide underground. Missile base? "Dark Ones"? Without a fast-paced introductory video describing the preceding events, those who didn't play the first part would not be able to follow the plot.Īs the title implies, "Metro" takes place in the tunnels of Moscow's subway system. After the conquest of the missile base D6 and the subsequent proceedings, we are supposed to locate the (allegedly) last survivor of the ominous "Dark Ones". Last Light continues the storyline told in its predecessor seamlessly. For the original German review, see here. Wiza is an app for automating LinkedIn Lead generation. I was priced out of most quality Japanese single malts (I had to go blended) but was lucky enough to drink Suntory Yamazaki 12-year-old one night with a salaryman who wished to practice his English skills. It made the job more fun, and I got to learn too! For many of my adult students the full whisky experience was their hobby, and as all Japanese students do, they took it extremely seriously. I got to learn a LOT about Japanese whisky when I taught English in Japan during the mid-noughties. The Yamazaki 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky Nikka Whisky From the Barrel is firmly on the top shelf of Japanese blended whisky expressions and would impress even the grumpiest Scotch whisky lover with its fluidity and fullness.Ĥ. Whisky From the Barrel benefits from a few drops of water to unlock the subtler flavors in a smooth finish that belies its strength. The palate offers grainy sweetness, the richness of candied orange peel balanced by flecks of pepper, cinnamon and cloves. The resultant blended malt is a fine, smaller bottle (500ml) possessing distinct individuality, with full flavor characterized by solidity, depth of taste and the characteristic aroma of Japanese fruits and spices. That sounds great in theory, but these new regulations are not set to be introduced until 2024, when they will be voluntary, making it likely that old practices will continue.Nikka Whisky From the Barrel blend packs a bold punch at 51.4% ABV and recently topped our list of best blended whiskies.įrom the Barrel combines quality single malt from the Yoichi Distillery on Hokkaido with grain whiskies from the Miyagikyo Distillery on the main island Honshu.Īfter the whiskies are married, they are re-introduced for barrel finishing in a huge variety of casks, including bourbon barrel, sherry cask and refill hogshead. Like its Scottish counterpart, it must be aged for a minimum of three years in wooden casks and clock in at no less than 40% ABV. However, new rules from the Japan Spirits & Liqueurs Makers Association state that a Japanese whisky must be made from malted barley, use local water and be fermented, distilled, aged and bottled in Japan. Look out for the ‘world whisky’ label when purchasing. And, while the unscrupulous use this loose regulation to pass entirely imported products off as Japanese, many reputable brands use foreign-produced whisky in their blends. Spoiler alert: currently, not all whiskies labelled as Japanese are distilled in Japan.Ĭurrent laws allow producers to import whisky from around the world. That may sound like a trick question, but the rules surrounding what defines a Japanese whisky are changing. Read on for their 10 most highly rated drams deserving of a space on your bar cart. Our panel of 10 WSET-qualified experts and whisky drinkers tried 11 Japanese whiskies neat, before adding some water to dilute and soften the alcohol and bring out its core flavours. It's best consumed alongside your favourite Japanese food. This simple serve combines three to four parts soda to one part whisky. But if you want to dial down some of the hotter, boozier notes in a lively whisky, add a little ice or water to open it up and mellow it out. You can sip it neat, of course the best whiskies need little else than a tumbler. But may we make some suggestions? There are a few drinking rituals surrounding Japanese whisky that it’s only right to give ceremony to. Distilled from cereal grains rather than malted barley, expect floral, fruity notes. However, with a shortage of mature malts, Japanese distillers have embraced the style in its own right some of the most revered Japanese whiskies are, in fact, grain. Grain, a much lighter style, is commonly used to balance out a blend. Single malts are produced at a single distillery, and pure malts are a blend of malt whiskies from multiple distilleries owned by the same producer (Japanese distilleries are fiercely competitive and tend not to trade their liquids). Most styles will be blends, made with malt and grain whiskies sourced from different distilleries. You’ll often enjoy a warming sherry heat, plus a little smoke where a peated malt is involved. Expect sweet honey and toffee notes, a hint of fruit such as orange and a characteristic smoothness. Taste-wise, Japanese whiskies run the spectrum from light and fruity to luxuriously rich. Visit for tips, information, recipes, and helpful home ideas for living with GA.Įvery person’s experience with GA is unique. Play an active role and stay involved with your vision to help you adapt to life with GA. If you are experiencing symptoms of GA, know that you aren’t alone: GA affects nearly one million people across the United States and approximately five million globally.įinding resources and a supportive community will be an important step in your GA journey. These are all signs that GA is progressing.Īs GA continues to progress, you may notice a blurry spot that appears in the center of your vision.Īs the lesions caused by GA grow larger, its effect on vision worsens, and can eventually lead to permanent vision loss. Straight lines, like telephone poles or those on a piece of paper, may have begun to look wavy or distorted. If you’ve been living with GA, you might notice that driving at night and reading have become harder. While this damage may start small, it progresses, as cells continue to die off, forming larger patches, known as lesions, which grow and spread across the retina. When your body recognizes this drusen buildup, it can send your immune system into overdrive, leading to inflammation-and eventually-the destruction of healthy cells in your macula. When you have GA, excessive debris deposits called drusen can build up in your retina. Your family history can make up to seventy percent of your risk of getting GA. Many things can increase your risk of getting GA, such as your age and lifestyle. If you’re early in your GA journey, the effects may not be noticeable now, but over time, those details, like the wrinkles on your fingers and the lines across your palms, could start to look hazy or blurred. It’s the retina-and more specifically the macula-where GA affects your vision the most. It helps you to process all the fine details of your world-like the lines on your hands-clearly. Within your retina is a tiny section called the macula. Your retina is located in an area that lines the back of your eye. It turns light-and all of the colors and the shapes it captures-into signals that your brain can understand. When you’re able to see all the crisscrossing lines and details it’s because of a part of your eye called the retina. To understand how this happens, I want you to think about the palms of your hands. This condition can lead to permanent and irreversible vision loss. Geographic Atrophy, or GA, is an advanced form of age-related macular degeneration, or AMD. Your eyes help you navigate the world and connect you with the people and things you love, so it’s important to understand what’s happening if you experience vision changes. Notice how the world around you gets clearer as the light pours in. Conduit gem is nice because it mitigates her bad early game clear. Jungle is meh because her early game is abysmal. You can play Tiamat in the middle lane and solo lane successfully. Yesterday I just immune’d an entire Skadi ice blocking my path to her and got the kill. Her ultimate in ground stance isn’t too quirky but remember it gives about a second of CC immunity when casting, which is useful for the obvious (begone ares ult) but is also fantastic for chasing because it cleanses slows that people often place behind them when running. You are Tiamat-probably one of the worst early game characters in the game, but one of the strongest if not the strongest late game. Yes, this does give you a small amount of extra exp. Spawn serpents when you leave base in other lanes. Managing her serpents to amp her passive is a very important part of her kit that isn’t easy to learn. One use of serpents has up to a possible 1200 healing! Having a bunch of serpents stacked before a team fight is very useful for randomly getting health while fighting, likewise you can preemptively spawn minions and switch into ground stance to periodically get DR stacks while you brawl. Spawning her serpent minions and having them die gives Tiamat her ‘large’ heal from her passive. Tiamat has the single best passive in the entire game, not just at base but because of her kits interaction with it. This most notably happens with Chacc ult, but it is so much worse than other leaps. You can be mid flight and get cc’d and just glitch back to your flying stance wherever you were. Tiamat’s 3 in flying stance is exceptionally glitchy. 05 second mark of hitting the input, you will successfully go into flight stance, but probably not in the spot you want. Okay so her 3 in grounded stance can be bodyblocked and interrupted at any point in the dash, if you get interrupted at any point past the. Like Chang’e’s animations it’s slightly faster for Tiamat to ground stance to 1 and then 2 than the other way around Tiamat’s 2 in grounded stance sometimes just doesn’t knock up(but does damage) don’t know why but it occurs most often when someone is walking perpendicular quickly towards your ability. Primordial onslaught (1 in flying stance) can be canceled (duh) but most don’t know there is about 0.3 seconds of downtime after you finish charging before she auto fires, hit the button again to launch them earlier. If you try to pick up yours by normal means or someone else kills it, you can’t refresh the timer. If you steal an enemy blue buff by execution, you can refresh that timer by also eating your blue buff. Consume (1 in grounded stance) can eat buffs (duh) but you can refresh an eaten buff timer with ANOTHER eaten buff. This effectively means you don’t need to waste a few seconds of cg stacks to get that last minion and you can save the clear for next wave. Likewise, you won’t get sacrificial shroud to proc but more importantly, conduit gem WILL NOT consume the stacks. This means if you execute a wave of minions while you have soul gem, it won’t make a stack. Consume (1 in grounded stance) will not trigger item passive effects if the only thing it does is execute minions/jungle monsters. I’ve been playing a bunch of Tiamat recently(almost at my second star), and I’ve found a bunch of weird and sometimes helpful stuff about her which can help you out in Tiamat games! |
